HALEY SAWYER, from Lehighton, Pennsylvania, will be entering her junior year as a communication major with a concentration in journalism at Robert Morris University and is involved with print, broadcast and online journalism.
Haley has served two semesters as assistant sports editor for RMU’s student-run online news source, RMU Sentry Media, and has recently been named copy editor. She also is the beat writer for the NCAA men’s ice hockey team. She is the associate producer and host for RMU-TV lifestyles show “Trending Now” and a field reporter for “Colonial SportsCenter.” She has also contributed to Washington D.C.-based website talkradionews.com.
Emily is active in publications around campus, including writing for the campus paper La Vie Collegienne. Emily has also been a part of the launch of LVC’s newest online publication, Off the Tracks, where she focuses on video journalism. Look for some of her video work this summer as she interns with the Press and Journal in Middletown.
KENDALL VALAN is a Lancaster, Pennsylvania, native pursuing a B.A. in Television and Video Production, with a minor in Journalism, at Robert Morris University. She was the news producer of RMU-TV’s “RMU-Live” in 2013 and is the creator, producer, and co-anchor of the human interest show “Trending Now.”
She is also director for “Campus Stories,” graphics creator for “Colonial Sports Center,” and a versatile team member of the live sports coverage crew. In addition, she currently serves as the assistant news editor for the student-run news publication, “RMU Sentry Media.” She is also a professional freelance videographer and a full-time summer intern for the Pennsylvania Cable Network. She is an editor for the Moon Access Community Channel and also works as a videographer and announcer for the NEC Front Row website.
She is the director of public relations for the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and the treasurer of the Society of Collegiate Journalists.
